The Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill. By a 68-32 vote, this much needed legislation sailed through that chamber.
But John Boehner is refusing to bring it up in the House, unless a majority of Republicans approve.
This is outrageous. If Republicans disagree with the bill, it’s certainly their right to vote against it. But they should at least have the guts to hold a vote in the first place. Boehner’s insistence on majority support from his party is a slap in the face of democracy, and yet another example of House Republicans putting petty partisan interests above the needs of the nation.
Send John Boehner a message, and demand he hold an up-or-down vote on the immigration reform bill.
